Job Description

We are seeking a talented and highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team of networking professionals. In this critical role, you will have the opportunity to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge network solutions that power our client’s business success.

*Start Date: ASAP
*Duration: Long-term Contract, potential to Contract-to-Hire
*Location: Sacramento, CA – primarily remote with some onsite “as needed”
*Pay Rate Range: Starting at $75hr W2, and up, depending upon experience. (W2 only. No C2C)

Your Key Responsibilities

*Architect and implement complex network infrastructures, leveraging your expertise in various networking protocols and technologies.
*Configure and maintain advanced routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF, ensuring seamless connectivity across our global network.
*Manage and optimize Cisco/Meraki switching and Wi-Fi solutions, ensuring high-performance and reliable connectivity for our users.
*Oversee and maintain Cisco Nexus Data Center switching, ensuring optimal performance and scalability for our mission-critical applications.
*Meticulously document network configurations, changes, and procedures, ensuring consistent and streamlined operations.
*Enhance network security and performance through proficient administration of PaloAlto Firewalls and Global Protect solutions.
*Implement and manage cutting-edge SD-WAN solutions, with a preference for Cisco Viptella, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across multiple locations.
*Leverage your cloud networking expertise, with a focus on Azure, to design and maintain robust cloud-based network architectures.
*Proactively monitor and maintain network observability and performance, ensuring optimal uptime and user experience.

What You Bring to the Table

*A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
*Minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a proven track record of success.
*Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, Cisco routing, Cisco/Meraki switching, Cisco/Meraki Wi-Fi, Cisco Nexus Data Center switching, and network documentation best practices.
*Proficiency in administering PaloAlto Firewalls, PaloAlto Global Protect, SD-WAN (Cisco Viptella preferred), cloud networking (Azure preferred), and network observability/monitoring tools.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
*Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

*Industry-recognized certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent.
*Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages.
*Familiarity with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
